So… (an update)
Where have I been? It’s a legitimate question.
The short answer is that I’ve been busy. Very busy.
My last post was in September of 2021, but if you go back a little further, you’ll find this post where I talk about applying to law school. Well, I made it in. I’ve been attending law school at the University of Houston Law Center since August 2020. I’m now in my final semester. I should graduate in May 2024. And, thanks to a rule in Texas, I am eligible to take the bar exam during my final semester since I had 86 hours at the end of last term.
And working. I did law school while working full-time. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been rewarding.
Speaking of work, I left Salesforce at the end of 2021 and started working at Proofpoint managing a team of experts. That is, I was working at Proofpoint until last week. I lost my job thanks to a round of layoffs. Zach Whittacre, Security giant Proofpoint is laying off 280 employees, about 6% of its workforce, Tech Crunch (2024), https://techcrunch.com/2024/01/31/proofpoint-layoffs-280-employees/ (last visited Jan 31, 2024).
I was planning on blogging more once the bar exam was done, but that was because my plate was completely full balancing work, school, and bar prep. With no more work and fewer hours of school, I can do bar prep all day long and maybe fit in some blogging, so you might be seeing more of me sooner rather than later.
