Finding email headers in Outlook’s web interface
5 March 2024
While browsing your inbox on Outlook.office.com, you might encounter emails where you need to see additional information beyond the basic sender, subject, and body content. This is where message details come in, providing a deeper look into the email’s origin and technical aspects.
Here’s how to access message details in Outlook.office.com:
1. Open the desired email: Click on the email whose headers you want to view.
2. Locate the options menu: Depending on your Outlook version, there are two ways to find the menu:
- New Outlook UI: Click the three dots (…) in the top right corner of the email.
- Classic Outlook UI: Click the down arrow (˅) next to the “Reply All” button.
3. Select “View message details”: From the dropdown menu, choose “View message details”.
Want to watch a video showing you exactly how to do it? I made one showing how to do it using the new Outlook UI:
